Head of Entire Vehicle Development Electric Vehicle (f/m/x)

Your Tasks

  • You will be part of our innovative team in the entire Vehicle Department, actively and responsibly shaping a future where every car is electric and shared
  • Responsibility for the development and management of our entire vehicle activities
  • Content management of the topics testing, simulation, NVH, weight management, packaging, homologation
  • Independent introduction of processe and methodologies of the overall vehicle development as well as support of the teams in all development phases
  • Coordination of all disciplines in the entire vehicle development, from virtual vehicle incl. CAE to end of life planning (EOL)
  • Responsibility for target definition including ensuring a target vehicle that is attractive across all essential customer criteria
  • Close cooperation with the module teams (Body Structure, Chassis, Exterior, Interior, E/E) to optimize target achievement as well as with the development teams regarding control of the data and release process
  • Preparation of analyses, evaluations and forecasts for essential systems and the entire vehicle (hardware, electrics/electronics and software)
  • Independently lead problem-solving activities in the product development process
  • Leadership and development of the assigned employees

Our Requirements

  • Technical degree such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or vehicle engineering
  • 15+ years of experience in a similar position in the automotive industry and ideally supporting several vehicle starts
  • Practical experience in overall vehicle development and/or validation as well as with tools in complete vehicle development (package validation/packaging, fault clearance process, vehicle and test planning, functional validation and simulation)
  • Experience in testing, simulation, NVH, weight management, packaging, homologation
  • Understanding of a complete electric vehicle including the joint effect of all technical systems as well as understanding in hardware and software topics
  • Self-understanding of squaring the circle in complete vehicle development as well as confident compromise finding in the eternal balancing act between advantages and disadvantages of different concepts
  • Leadership experience with the necessary aplomb and calmness in complicated situations such as deadline pressure
  • Ability to negotiate effective terms and conditions between internal/external or between internal parties
  • Fluent in English and German and very good knowledge of the relevant Microsoft tools
  • Sustainability is close to your heart, you like to swim in the open ocean and stand by your successes and mistakes
